Offers from Loom and Dropbox! Here’s How This Client Did It

Today's celebration is for a client who landed offers from Loom and Dropbox earlier this year (but I forgot to post!). They accepted the offer from Loom as Principal PM 🎉

In addition to working on Product Sense and Analytical interviews, we also spent time on FRAMING and INCORPORATING leadership qualities in their stories.

1️⃣ Example on FRAMING:

When discussing the most impactful project, start by defining what impact means, in their case, it meant that the project changed the trajectory of the business, and then:

  • Begin with a clear problem statement
  • Outline the context and constraints
  • Highlight the STRATEGIC importance of the project
  • Emphasize their role and leadership

2️⃣ On INCORPORATING leadership qualities:

  • Highlight decision-making abilities using First Principles and rationale
  • Emphasize how they presented to executives
  • Demonstrate the ability to influence and getting buy-in

3️⃣ Projecting confidence with BODY LANGUAGE:

During their storytelling, body language was another aspect we worked on to help them present more confidently.

Super happy for them, and also for Loom on a great hire!

Once a month, on the last Monday of the month, a small group PMs targeting L7-L9 roles gathers on Zoom to ask me and my partner Amit Saxena (ex Meta Director) anything.

What does "great" actually sound like at this level? How do you frame cross-org impact without sounding junior? What's the real difference between an L6 and an L7-L9 answer?

Nothing is off limits.

The next one is next Monday, would you like to join us?
